Comforpedic - Heat Doesn’t Stand a Chance against a Comforpedic Mattress

I think that we all know how enamored I am with the new Comforpedic line-up from Simmons.  You wouldn’t think that I had any more to write about, if you’ve checked out my blog and seen all of the tributes that I’ve written.  But, amazingly, there is more.  I’ve found, by talking to customers, that the main concern about memory foam is still heat retention.  I understand this problem, and I’ve gone over the AirCool system that is used in all Comforpedic mattresses before.  This time, I am going to try to explain it so that everyone can understand and have some piece of mind about their temperature while sleeping.  I’m going to tell it from the heat’s perspective.  Really, I am.  Read on and be amazed.

Imagine a Comforpedic mattress, with a person sleeping on it.  The mattress is conforming to the person, and the air around that person is warming up to their core temperature.  On a normal memory foam mattress, that heat would absorb into the mattress, would warm up the cells of the memory foam, and would only be able to escape upwards.  Escaping downwards and away from the sleeper would be impossible due to the density of the memory foam, in conjunction with the density of the base foam and the edge support (if there is any).

On a Comforpedic mattress, the first thing that this heat hits is the AirCool Memory Foam with TruTemp technology.  TruTemp technology means that there are little globules of gel suspended in the AirCool memory foam.  These gel globules absorb and store the heat away from the sleeper’s body.  When the sleeper moves or changes position, the TruTemp gel releases the excess warmth down and into the mattress.  This heat then travels through the AirCool Memory Foam and the Independent Support Technology.  The Independent Support Technology is a foam support layer that has hundreds of support cushions, which not only support the sleeper, but also allow for air (and heat) to move around the cushions and out of the mattress.  Finally, the heat travels out the AirCool Edge, which is a ventilated edge support system, and out the Mesh Border Fabric into the air.
All of these systems and innovations allow the sleeper to stay at a comfortable temperature.  Comforpedic has proven in lab tests to dissipate heat 2.8 times faster than the competition.
